I'm really not sure what happened to August. After an insane July, we really slowed it down a lot and just enjoyed doing nothing. And by "doing nothing" I mean we only went on 1 trip, we did a ton of play dates, and we added a new member to our family (twice.)
Here's my August wrap up in pictures:
The kids weren't the only ones who enjoyed it!
So we got a cat.
After much debate, we decided to let Mary Grace pick out a cat. She chose this one and named her Allie. We set it up like a foster-like program so that if someone in the family had a major allergic reaction or we had problems with her...we could take her back.
We loved her a lot, but she wasn't the best cat for our family. Allie was completely crazy. She bit us a ton and had excessive desires to tear everything up.
Family Golf Night

The World's Biggest Fire Hydrant
Spicing up hotel life (who doesn't like to snorkel at hotels?)
Allie was with our family for about 2 weeks. We had been praying about how to handle her (if we should keep her, or not.) The foster mom picked her up from us and took her to the vet to get spayed...and she bit the vet. From what we heard they couldn't verify that she wasn't rabid, and so the sheriff had to pick her up and take her to quarantine for 10 days.
As sad as we are to not have Allie anymore (she's already found another great owner), we feel like everything worked out for the best. We have another new sweet kitty living with us- Smokey.
Miller bought himself his first "real" Legos this summer. He's so proud that he's finally able to do the big boy ones!
Sweet boy has been a little sleep deprived this summer- he plays hard until he passes out.
Riverbanks Zoo
This giraffe licked Miller right after I took this picture and Miller thought it was the worst thing thats ever happened to him in his life. He kept saying "I just need to go home."
Anniversary trip to Carolina Beach (thank you Nana for watching the kids!)
It's amazing what kids can do with some scissors and tape.
Our Smokey girl
Ms. Kim (our neighbor) threw a mini-party to celebrate Mary Grace and Lila's birthdays.
12th Anniversary
Miller learned to ride his bike (with training wheels) and now we can't get him off of it!Game truck- Miller, Mary Grace, Daniel and Brody
