I love all holidays and the 4th of July is one of my favorites!
We try to celebrate everything patriotic for at least a week.
On Thursday we took the kids up to the family farm.

Brent was off work on Friday so we tried out a new breakfast/coffee place- The Cast Iron Waffle.
On Friday night (the 3rd) our friends, Josh and Cassandra, invited us to come eat dinner and view the Southpark fireworks from Josh's office balcony.
It was truly a perfect night! We ate on the balcony, overlooking the park and listening to the symphony.
Mary Grace's violin teacher, Rachel, plays in the Charlotte symphony. Although we couldn't actually see because of the Amphitheater dome, Mary Grace was 100% sure she knew which violin sound was Rachel. It was really sweet. Mary Grace texted Rachel as soon as the concert was over to tell her "good job."

There could not be a more incredible place to view the city's best firework display!
On the morning of the 4th Nana came over for the Waxhaw parade and a cookout.
Saturday night our neighborhood had a pool/dinner/firework party.
Mary Grace, Aubrey and Ella
Gretchen arranged a few games for the kids including a greasy watermelon relay and a game with frozen t-shirts (the kids LOVED that one- she froze several wet t-shirts and the first team to be able to put theirs on, won!)
Our neighborhood did a pretty impressive fireworks show. Thankfully, Miller was happy to hang back with me for most of it (even though he still wants to be a Firework Boomer when he grows up!)

We were very excited to continue our celebrating right into the 5th as we cheered on our women's world cup soccer team.
What a perfect way to end the holiday weekend!
