Independence Day

The Fourth of July 2012

 Miller's First Fourth
We had a very relaxing morning at home.
Brent cooked some awesome BBQ eggs and Mary Grace and I made flag toast.
After breakfast I put together this interesting, but amazing watermelon salad (x2...I volunteered to bring the same dish to both parties we were going to)
For lunch headed over to Nathan and Rachel's
Both kids are kind of obsessed with Mr. Nathan!

After lunch we went to the pool with them and Miller decided to take a nice nap. When he fell asleep sitting in the float correctly, his head kept dropping in the water. But when I laid him out across the float, he was super content and apparently comfortable!
After the pool we headed over to Scott and Erin's house for a cookout-
Annabelle, Miller, Mary Grace and Graham
Erin and Scott live downtown so we were able to walk a couple blocks to watch the city fireworks.
They have done this for several years so they knew the best place- we got perfect spots on top of a bridge!
The fireworks didn't start until 10. Miller got a nice nap in his stroller and slept through the majority of the fireworks. He woke up toward the end and saw a couple (he actually was more excited to people watch and could have cared less about the fireworks)
We missed being with family this year, but we certainly enjoyed our holiday. And we were so grateful to have some wonderful friends to spend the day with!
