Natural Bridge
Red River Gorge, KY
July 3rd, 2012
Today Brent had an appointment with a client about an hour East of Lexington. We have been wanting to check out the Natural Bridge State Park so the kids and I rode along. After Brent's meeting we ate a late lunch at a major hole in the wall pizza place, Miguels, that came highly recommended (probably the best pizza we've ever eaten!)
After pizza we rode the skylift through the state park to the Natural Bridge.
A LOT of people hike in this area. Brent forgot to bring a change of clothes. He got a lot of funny looks from 'fellow' hikers!
We chose to 'hike' the way where we could actually stand on the bridge. If we had gone in the other direction we would have been able to take pictures of the bridge itself. It was way too hot today to do both so maybe next time.
The skylift was very exciting for Mary Grace. She rode with Brent (they are in the chair right in front of me in this picture) and I held Miller.
We spent a little bit of time driving through the park.
This is really pretty green iron bridge.
And then we got to drive through the 1-lane tunnel. It was super cool!
Hope everyone has a fabulous 4th of July!
